1. Fundamental Operation: A power inverter serves as a crucial component in transforming direct current (DC) into alternating current (AC). This process stands in stark contrast to a converter, which converts AC power from the mains grid into a stable 12V DC output. In essence, while a converter converts AC to DC, an inverter performs the inverse operation, converting DC voltage typically sourced from a battery or adapter into high-frequency, high-voltage AC.
