What is the development of modified sine wave inverters?

1. Square Wave Inverters: Early inverters produced a square wave AC output, characterized by abrupt transitions from the positive maximum value to the negative maximum value. This abrupt change caused significant instability and poor load handling, with only 40-60% of the rated power being usable. Additionally, square wave inverters struggled with inductive loads, and the high third harmonic content could damage the power filter capacitors in the load by increasing the capacitive current.
2. Introduction of Modified Sine Wave Inverters: To address these issues, modified sine wave inverters were developed. These inverters introduce a time interval between the positive and negative peaks of the output waveform, creating a stepped approximation of a sine wave.
